GOAL: MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE COMMUNITY
Abstrakt’s 3rd Annual Give Back Day took place on Aug. 2, 2019. Abstrakt team members were granted leave during typical operational hours to volunteer at local nonprofit organizations. With 330 team members, plus family members and 20 local nonprofit organizations, everyone had a fun-filled day of giving back.
Each year since the creation of this event I change elements of the campaign to align with any changes in Abstratk’s brand and to keep the design for Give Back Day consistent with current trends. I started 2019’s branding by looking at the typefaces and colors and making some small adjustments.

SIGNATURE COLORS

T-SHIRT DESIGN
Each year I design a new t-shirt to use with Abstark’s branding and the hand logo I made the first year. The t-shirt determines the look and feel for that years Give Back Day. I used paint strokes to make the words “Give Back Day” stand out because many of the organizations were having Abstrakt’s team members paint. The triangle in the background comes from the basic shape of the Fleur de Lis that is on the St. Louis flag. I brought in the triangle on the back to feature all of the organizations names.

SNAPCHAT FILTERS
One of my tasks was to come up with creative ideas to engage our team mates to personally promote the event through social media. I landed on Snapchat because its easy to set up filters, its relatively cheap and 203 million people around the globe use Snapchat which will help Abstrakt gain brand awareness.
I designed custom Snapchat filters for each of the 19 organizations that we volunteered at. I scheduled all of them to their unique locations and pulled the reporting after the filters were flighted. The top performing filter for 2019 was for Gateway Pet Guardians with 23 uses, 1,959 views for seven dollars making the cost per view only $0.0035!

ADDITIONAL COLLATERAL
In addition to the branding, I was responsible for producing and coordinating all of the collateral that went with the event. That included save the date signs and informational printed signs around the office, email header, email reception ticket, Snapchat Filters for the reception and sign-in sheets.
I project managed my team to complete everything for the event and we finished ahead of schedule which allowed us to have some additional time for revisions. Under my direction here are some of those pieces.

1,800+ HOURS OF WORK
I worked with our Video Producers to make sure the branding was consistent between mediums.
